I have one in the front of my 71 series Prado, and have found no difficulties with steering on hard ground. I am still running 31 BFG MT's though. Do you have power steering? I do so perhaps this makes a difference. Others have commented on this before, Wopass I think.

Hey Wopass has your steering got easier with the Lock-Rights now you have changed power steer pumps and boxes?

Mine definitely took longer than 2 1/2 hrs, probably 8 by the time I got the electric hubs sorted but I was changing it whilst off work for six months after dislocating my shoulder badly  That’s dangerous forms of motorsport for ya

a lockright in the front can cause nothing but problems depending how hard you intend to pedal your truck and your tyre size etc. trust me i know from expeirence! :D a good tightened LSd is probably a better option unless you plan on getting sum longfeilds. i went through 5 CV's in two trips on my 1993 2.8 hilux running 4.88 diffs and 33" mongrels. i didn't exactly thrash it but the steering constantly wanted to remain straight ahead and my turning circle was reduceda bit also. As i say this is just my experience and results maybe different for others and you. :D cheers marc

I've had lockrights front and rear for 3 yrs in a suprasurf, running 5.29 diffs, only busted 2CV's and none till I put in a Marlin crawler and doubled the torque load on them
Thats my limited experience

front locker, makes the steering stiffer, provides unbelievable traction, smashes cv'sand sometimes makes turning tight corners in the slippery mud more diffacult.rear lockers are cool gives you positive traction when you want/need it and still able to turn corners without scuffing tyres as it will slip on good traction surfaces.

rear locker.....do it they rule.

front locker.... get longfields..then do it, they rule more (or go arb if you can afford to blow the money)

thats my 6c
