The Surf Finally gets a revamp!!!

Post by Conan »

at last my surf is getting some power, by means of a 5M supra and some lift at the rear to finally do it some justice.... :D

good ole supralux from chch offered me the donk to drop in it at a reasonable price so i headed up his way with the intentions of a motor transplant.......

so after 3 and a half days of tinkering its ready to drop in.. yay....
"it may hit the IFS sump" echoes round the room...
(who said that ? we heard nothing..)

sure enough there aint much in the way of space under that sump so ........... steve twists my big rubber arm, we super size our meal and grab a SAS to go....

its been a week or so and ive left steve up there with all the good jobs; eg which is pretty much everything minus grinding of all the IFS crap from the chassis :?

still got no computer so no pics till later in the week, ill post some then and show you how its looking

anyone know where i can get a cheap bike?? looks like im using the deadly treadly for a week or two more than hoped (for the best though :D )

it began as just an engine swap..

then came the solid axle swap...

now adding falcons to the list..

woop woop :P

If anyone is wondering where I got to, ask Conan. I'm bleary eyed, running on fumes and not really sure which way is up right now...

However I have an IFS surf sitting on fancy Hilux rear springs in the front, a nice solid axle and some 'coon springs sitting beside it and a Supra ready to be thrown in the hole...

If I could just get a couple of hours sleep I'd probably stop welding things in the wrong place and cutting off things I need... oh well, the engine mount looks good under the axle, kind of like a small air brake :) And brakes? I've said it before... who needs stinkin brakes?

I'd better get back to it... crushed finger, blurred vision, tight timeframe and all... Conan is a hard taskmaster... "Here, just put that axle thingy there, weld that, grind that and she's all done"... "I'll just pop back to QT for a few days, make sure its finished when I get back..."

*sigh*
