Have some things I must get done but keen to tag on and do the Ashley track again, if any of you think of it txt me just before you get to the Okuku and I can tee up there (will only take me 10 mins to get there) might work in for Matt(4u) and any other late comers to meet there too...

From Ashley township its only 1.8km home for me. Actually just a little beyond the township there are some more interesting tracks, the mud in the plantation should be a bit more than a splat and slip like it was last time I was there.

What a beaut day for the trip. Dunno wher the "Naki" boys got to, no sign of them.
Seven of us managed to make it down the river to the Ashley track with only one wet air filter!
The track however claimed several victims, two of us getting caught on the same tree branch stub, causing a little more damage to the Terrano than the Toyota. :?
There was a watery hole that also claimed 3 victims, all requiring a tow!
Then off to the river for a quick wash to rid us of some of the mud we claimed as our very own; however someone forgot to mention that it was the outside that was to get washed, not the carpets too!
Well im off outside to hang out the washing before it freezes......
Some pics and vids to post up later tonight.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

The mud must have increased at the track or the trucks were a little less capable, last week I went through there by myself but in saying that I did have to pull some others out. Even a wee std zuki with road tyres got through ok. Maybe light enough!

I saw you guys at the Ashley pub when I went to have a play in the plantation down stream from the township at about 4:00

where were you :P

Had a good ol' family day thanks to those that attended :!:
What happened to the guys from the Naki  , we catered for you guys anyway
Sorry about the dint in your truck Pete, I have a slightly smaller sibling on mine
To those that thought about coming and didn't, we had a chap (Mike) turn up in a virtually standard MU with hooks (no snorkel) and complete the trip from start to finish without a tow till we were washing the trucks, and we hope you had fun and will come again
great day, great kids, great beer at the Ashley.
see you all next time
Tim
P.S forgot the camera, but post your pics here chaps if you got some .....to keep kev happy 8)

Headed up to meet you lot( supralux and me ) on the tail bikes. had a blast, but got as far as we could without comprimising the bikes as the water was a tad to deep and we were a long way from the trailer. We stopped at the river that goes up to leighs camp or whatever its called, The okuku maybe.

The ashley track was quite slippery on the bikes. I only managed to come off 4 or 5 times

Pity we didnt end up meeting yas.

Makerikeri - Okuku is at the other end of the track.

I should have come with you on the ATC three wheeler!, awesome fun in mud, (best in snow), copes better than a quad in many places, and floats when you get to deep water - not so much fun in swift stuff tho!
