Terawhiti Family Shiny Hard Yakka Mud Trip

Post by Jerry »

Ok my right foot is getting itchy and my prado is getting bored in the garage so I'm going to run a Terawhiti trip, looking at next sunday 8th ot 15th ...whatever suits the majority.....if you can't decide then I will decide.

Trip suits newbies to hard out 4wd'ing as there are optional hard bits and I have some new mud holes to get Marks whale stuck. light rain is ok may be postponed if hosing down, family friendly trip...bring the kids, plenty of opportunitys to stop and let them get muddy. may be scratchy in places.

Mud tyres or good A/T's are preferred if wet, rated hooks are required if you play in the optional hard bits and mud holes.

Please advise which day is preferred and I will book etc. more details will follow. Trip fee is $20 per vehicle. do we want to stop somewhere for a quick BBQ lunch if someone wants to organise it (James?)

Nice one Jerry. I have just started getting a bit of an itch for a play myself. After Queens Birthday weekend I have been pretty content for a while, but it's time for another play.

Either weekend is good for us, but I'm on call with Coastguard the weekend of the 8th so I'd prefer the following weekend.

I would be keen, time to put the Jeep through its paces and meet some of you guys. I can't keep lurking for the rest of my life. I don't mind which weekend but I'll be a starter.

Cheers

Ok lets make it the weekend of the 14th/15th, do people prefer Sat or Sun?????

Make sure you have your rated hooks sorted before this trip if you want to play in the optional bogs , if you need help give Stinky (Marty) a call on 384 4141. They will be checked. Bring a spade as well as gumboots etc

If there is enough interest we could make it a drive the day and then have a big bonfire booze up and then stay the night and go out the next morning ....

If your engine packs up, just take the bar out and wrap the chain round your wheel and start it up and power yourself home.

I bet thats just his small one

ok I'll book for the Sat and Sat Nightthose that want to leave at 5ish can do so, those that want to hang round for a bbq can do so and we can take them out 7-8ish (or perhaps you can do an unload the kids on someone run)

no idea what the weather is going to do but plenty of room under cover if needed, a generator or 2 and some lights for the woolshed would be useful

Yep, put my name down for whatever we end up doing.
Saturday, Sunday, overnighter..... I am not fussy.
Might take the carpets out this time eh?
And fit some old headlights (so I don't need to cry when they end up looking like fishbowls).
