Perhaps those of us without winches can tag along and park up and watch or something, or find a 2nd leader and run it as a dual trip.

Not quite true, anyone from a club can request a key from the council to lead a trip and if your given a key and have there councils permission then you area allowed in there without ARAC approval. Many clubs do this. At the moment their are no offical ARAC Trip leaders as they made it that if you didnt atten the training your ARAC status was whiped. Therefore the trip with the crusier club over QBW there was not an offical trip leader there as non of them attended the training. ARAC is a group who train tripleaders and work with the council to keep access for rec purposes.

Jerry wrote:Thats not my understanding of how Access works, There is a list of ARAC approved trip leaders held by the council, which you get after doing training. We had Insurance and a Permit at QBW and Chris was already a Trip leader, there were a number that weren't able to attend due to the short notice of the training.
