Yep...if we have 50 people turning up see what sort of discount we can get, we want cabins for those that want it, others may want to camp. big ass bbq and bonfire on the sat night, shiny and hard trips...have I missed anything?, options for kids activities too?

me and my girlfreind will be up that direction for her 21st birthday (20th-nov) and we are going to visit 'long' and meet his dogs so if it is somewhere then we should be able to tag along (show up everyone that doesnt have a prado, ae jerry )

Sounds like Jerry is volunteering to run a childcare service for the weekend. Good on ya mate, we'll definitely be there then! :thumleft:
A trip up there sounds really good, and it sounds as though it could be a bit of an ORE North Island (with a few Southerners tagging along) get together. Labour weekend sounds like a good time (October 20-22).
Labour weekend might be a round of the national champs in Welly ie the Deadwood Safari......, let me check it out, otherwise labout weekend sounds ideal, unless a quieter weekend on the roads would be better....
I thought Uncle Bubba was going to look after them

First round of national trials is on october 13/14th, so labour weekend should be sweet for most.

soooooooo part of this, whats wrong with blundering about on the west side of Desert road, on the slopes of the mountains? soft scoria, hard pan, creeks, bush, steep bits easy bits (for me) shiny and real truck places???

Round one of the national trials is always on labour weekend isnt it?
its not on labour wekend this year. might even be from now on. i think because of there now being the nelson round it has moved everything around to keeps the correct spacing. i cant really remember. but its definatly not labour weekend.
On the nzfwda calender on their website it confirms it so Labour weekend looks good....only issue may be heavy traffic that weekend ....would a quieter weekend be better?

Will your Rover be ready by then for this ORE trip??
Jerry, if I had kept to the original plan, the LR would have been done about 9 months ago. You should know by now that all im doing is adding stuff. Building the damn thing is half the fun
