Wheel flares
Wheel flares
Anyone know where to get cheap wheel flares for my bj70 landcruiser as my tires stick out the side? What are the options? How much are they roughly? Any help appreciated, thanks.
repco do a flexi flare in either (if i recall correctly) 35mm and 65mm. dont know what lengths.
if getting conveyor rubber, ask for the stuff with "memory". it will go back to its original shape after bending or bring hit. (cheers to Dixie for that piece of info)

I went to Bunnings and bought a roll of 150mm wide plastic garden edging (10 metres) for $28. It's about 5mm thick I think, and is stiff enough to stay in shape but will bend if pushed on. I was going to cut it in half (length ways) but then realised that I needed them to be about 110mm wide to allow enough to screw on and cover the wheel. I just cut it down with a jigsaw and screwed it on with the factory flare screws. It worked out really well.
This is by far the best value for money option that I came across... thanks Stinky!

Just been down to bunnings and bought the 100mm version. $23.00. Cut it to length (with a stanley knife.... nice and easy stuff to work with) and during the week or on the weekend ill be trimming them to shape and banging em on.

i have also done this to my hilux
i used the factory water gaurd bolts but the didnt hold it in tight enough. so some slightly bigger bolts have them fitting nice and snug. also with my truck i had to bend the mounting points out abit so the flares wernt on funny angles.
brought my edging off trademe. it was cheap and theres more than enough to do some more incase i do rip some off!
