new dstrbd member!!!

Post by dstrbd »

Hello.
I have finally pulled my my finger from my you know what and joined ORE. Due to my computer illitar elliter lack of smarts, I might be a little slow here and there so please bare with me. I have one or three 4X4s one being just about all toyota one just about all nissan and one half way in between!!! The first one is my 84 hilux single cab known as DSTRBR which is half way through a ground up resto complete with turbocharged vvti 1uzfe, coil sprung surf rear end and narrowed patrol diff with factory locker. This when finished should net around 500 hp and will be used for shows and sunday driving only NO MUD!! The next mentioned is my trusty pile of sh.. safari complete with denco turbo kit,
body lightening rust and crap tyres, its sole purpose to tow the tuff truck which it does almost sorta kinda. The last one is my hybrid surf patrol. This has a patrol SWD rolling chassis lengthened by 130mm and a surf body shortened by 500mm. Its powered by a supercharged 1uzfe making 300hp atw on 4-5 psi driving through a R series 5 speed manual and is a hell of lot of fun to drive. It is known as DSTRBD so if you see it or me out and about please say hi always keen to meet new faces.
Cheers
Jono

Hi Interesting 4x4's... Love the plates too

Disturbed is right you must have so many Safari Toyota arguments with yourself! I guess with that mix you can go anywhere and not offend anyone. *Sigh* even the winch challenge is becoming politicaly correct.

Did you do the work in the 1UZ's? Is the turbo a twin setup? otherwise how far away from the block is the turbo? Anyway I hope you get out and enjoy them, even the shiney I am a bit green at the mo 8)

Hi
I am a fabricator/ mechanic by trade so I do all the work myself hence so many toys. I also have a very understanding wife!!! I must also mention that towards the end of the build of DSTRBD a lot of help was given by LOLYF, LEXLUX and a few other ORE members. The turbo on DSTRBR is a single kkk 550 kw capible unit built by Steve Murch and it sits behind the passengers headlight. It is feed by two equal length primaries looping together under the motor then up to the turbo. Off the back is a 4'' stainless exhaust, it should make enough noise to live up to its plate! When I get a little more savvy I will try to upload some photos for interest sake. 8)

I heard there was lots of carnage at that winch challange and from what i heard you got a pretty easy victory.

There was only 4 trucks in our class and we got 2nd place . 1st and 3rd placed trucks generally blitzed our times but we cleared a staged that the others didnt. It was an awesome experience with fantastic tracks.
