You shoud be able to fit a pintle hook to the rear pretty easily, the holes are already there. I used these same holes to hold the hayman reese set up on my rear bar to the chassis. As for the front, mine had holes that took aftermarket hooks. They are currently getting seriously modified though as I am getting a dedicated winchbar made up, with four recovery points on it, two hooks and two eyelets.

Can you post up a pick, as originally mine was an aluminium step, with the pintle hook in the middle. Take it off and have a look, it will give you more ideas and a better perspective.

Weeellllllll.... it just so happens that I have a mounting bracket for the factory rear recovery point of a Safari:

NOTE: I bought this off Shane from this site about 6 months ago and the photos are from his original post.

It's just got a bit of dirt on it now but is in perfect condition. I have a new rear bar fitted and no longer require this bracket, but I have reused the hook (so you just need to buy a hook, which you can get for about $20 or so). You can have it for $30 plus postage if you want it.

PM me if you are interested.

Oh, and that includes the 8.8 bolts to secure it to the vehicle. You don't want to use the factory bolts if you have them as they are milder steel. I can get you a hook and send that up with it if you want.

You still have the problem that the nuts are not rated. The nuts can break.

The top right bolt has been pulled from the nut.

If there had been a pintle hook on the rear im sure the damage would have been alot worse.

Hehehe... was just having a little dig.

Could you not see my pictures? There should be two pics in my post too... if that's what you mean.

No I didn't get your PM. There seem to be a few people saying that lately... I think it's because when you create a PM if you don't enter a subject and then click send it takes you back to the same screen and warns you to add a subject, but you think that it has been sent. That happened to me once and I couldn't figure out why, then realised that I had to enter a subject and click send again.

Try again

Also note the straightened tow hook, indicating a hard pull, the bracket distortion (being bent to the bumper and barely away fron the mount) tends to indicate bracket failure as well. I think one bolt pulling out a few millimeters is the least of the problems shown in this picture.
Maybe a pintle would have held its shape and not placed excess strain on a single bolt????
