Ooooppps... I didn't think of the fact that you have to be an association member to see association trips . Oh well, you'll just have to join then won't you!

hosehustler wrote:I'm going back this year mid to late july, weekend trip meeting early Saturday morning @ 0800 Rolleston BP, trip will go up to the glacier Sat, (up to the recognised stopping point then on foot), Saturday arvo up to the McCauly hut, Sat night in the hut(hopefully :) ) down the valley Sun morn and home Sunday afternoon :D
This trip is an easy grade 2-3, but due to winter that could all change so be prepared for a really cold (*note antifreeze, and rum a MUST*)night outta town.
Due to others who may be in the hut and who may be on foot you will have to take alternate means of accomodation, i.e i'm sleeping on a mattress in my truck, others may do similar or take yourselves a tent
We have another new born due Aug 7th so this will be my last weekend trip for a while, come along if you're an association member with a shiny truck this is an excellent trip for you to attend and meet everyone without damage to your truck.....not gaurnteed but about 97% sure :D
Association trip and associations rules apply
who's keen, this is a partners/family trip :P

And this was mid summer, mid winter will be spectacular

Ignore the dates in there, it has been changed to end of August. Keen?

question.. is it possible to get a car to the woolshed or is there somewhere safe i could leave mine and grab a spare seat with someone there as that would probably be easier and be less inconvinient for others to pick me up...plus car will be legal by then...

Jerry, all you need is one geny for the woolshed and a long extension lead, run the geny outside the big door and run the lead to the pole next to the trap door in the woolshed. Over in the far left corner of the main 'living' room. There is a power plug there which, if you plug it into the extension from the geny then it powers the lights in the woolshed. You can switch them on and off from that plug.

There are a couple of us going down there during the week, but we might be gone by the time you guys get there!! Make sure you clean up before you leave! There was a bit of a mess in there the last time we went down, we had to clean up when we got there and take the rubbish out left by the previous people.

Have fun!! As i say we might see you there unless weve already left!!
regards

John

I can bring a generator and a couple of 500 watt spotlights. And my trusty Husky if needed.

Probably not a good idea the 'anti possum tools' with so many people there. Unless you mean a couple of fox terriers?

Good on ya!! Last time we had possums in the woolshed the foxies got them - was not a pleasant sight for the faint hearted. But what do you expect with possums and dogs in a confined space. I didn't know my foxies had it in them!

But an Axe, now that could be messy...

Going to have to pull out of this trip now. Had a dissagreement with a tree branch on the 10hr track, punched a few holes in my radiator and bend it back into the fan

Will be a couple of weeks till im able to afford to fix it.
