I have a gearbox and transfer out of an 88 surf that had a 3y if thats any help??

That will be a G52 box Turoa... and it will bolt in place of the W56 the only issue is the transfer case shifter isn't in the same place... if you've got a buggered gearbox Mahindra then the transfercases can be swopped from your old one to turoa's box to keep the shifter sticking up out of the same hole

i was looking to get a 4x4 manual box to put behind the lexus v8 in the mahindra

unless your on a real tight budget forget about a G or W box save a few extra pinga's and get a R151 box its the manual box from the V6 surf either that or one of the cruiser box's
Based on the size of the mahindra I'd sugest an early 40 series 4 speed they are a real short box thats resumbly strong ... theres more than a few running behind 350 chev's
The shorter box will give you a better rear drive shaft angle after you've lifted it

Im assuming since your putting a Lexus in your going for big feet and a lift too

PM Wopass, Niblick or one of the other 40 series nuts they'll give ya the details on size
