My weekend (past) was at Methven/Mt Hutt area running a Holiday Youth Camp.
Had about 40 youth there and theme was based on snow and got dumped with about a foot of it on the Thursday night. Many young people were from the North Island and had never been in snow before or seen it fall
If you have dial up you might want to forget about the following but these are some 4x4 related photos
Neat View from the lodge (caretaker's vehicle)
Was too cold to start my cruiser! had to tow it out and jump start it! Have narrowed it to the starter. Any tips appreciated on what I can do if its not starting when real cold but ok later in the day or after being hit a bit.
Good visibility! Only drove backward like this

had to clear the snow off the bonnet to lift it.
Hiding! :S
That's better
Heading out from the lodge
We went down to a church at Ashburton. The wee kids there thought we were Christmas when we bought a few vehicle loads of snow. I still had about 6-7 inches on top of my truck for them to play with, that was after a ½ hour drive and sitting for a few hours.
Little snow thief!
Of course didn't get any photos while 2wding up the road and drifting out in the snow but didn't get too much time to do that with a bunch of young folk with me most of the time and having to be more responsible, still had one 16y/o girl hiding her eyes tho!
I really wanted to play down here
but stayed with this type of amusement
