Munroes are ok for the road but if you want to stop a bouncy but you will have to spend a bit more
Tough dog foam cells are realy good (about $190 each) not cheep and the price goes up from there
EFS should be quite good as well but you will have to ask some one who has them, and how much they coast
Rancho's aren't to bad, a lot cheaper but last to long

If you want to make things comfy in a 40 (or any leaf sprung shortie with short spring packs), you need to do some srious work. Longer spring packs, coil conversion, air bag springs etc.
60 series crusiers ride like a pig (read hard as) when compared with a 'lux,because the spring packs are so short. When doing the falcon spring conversion in the back of a 'lux, the ride improves dramatically, but so does the body roll.
As a standard set up, rangies and 110 defenders have one of the best rides off road, (shame about the huge list that is their other short comings!).
IMHO I have never found that shocks improve ride quality a huge amount, although they are a noticable change.

My 70 series Cruiser has nice suspension seats. I was commenting on how good they were to my brother and he was agreeing, then later we discovered that his one was in lock mode and once we changed that he really noticed the difference!
Back seat passengers complain as its not a real comfy seat back there.

Its a weird feeling when flying down Balmoral straight in Nth Canty and feeling your seat rise up or down. Suspension seats all the way!

you didn't say wether it was bouncy on or off the road ???
I found that my 40 was too bouncy on the road and I gradually let the pressures down until I was happy.
The final pressures ended up being 20psi.
the other week I was chasing a mate on the road at 140kph with only 12psi in my beadlocked rims and it felt great, a little bit spongy in the corners but otherwise great.
If its the road you're worried about, then drop them to 25psi and try that and if still not happy then go to 20psi.

This does work but makes for bad cornering on road if you go to low
And if you run good mud tyres (simex etc) this is very bad, it wears out the outside luggs. The best thing for mud tyres on the road a higher presure is better
When driving off road let them right down, but dont go too low if you dont have bedlocks or second air. This makes for a lot softer ride and heaps more grip
I have beadlocks and run the front at 12 to 15 psi and the rears at 8 to 10 psi
, and thats a 3 ton safari
Guys with hilux's go as low as 5 or 6 psi and with my suzuki 2 to 4 psi

is your tank in the cab or under the floor ???
mine is in cab and I had some seats out of a subaru, but the bottom was too thick and my head was nearly sticking out the rollcage, so I brought some race seats. best purchase you can make, coz not only do they lower your seat height but they hold you in f#*king tight.

with the tank under the floor you can go to a truck wreckers and buy a suspension seat and fit that. then you'll just be able to ride the bumps out in comfort.

those seats look shit for offroading no support at all ,all i could see after a day out in that wagon would be a chiropractor.they look like they are off one off those ride on lawn mowers.i used to run car seats in my 40 but have since changed to those plastic race type seats with vinyl covers ,easy to clean and i find i dont bounce around as much so i can still see where i,m going when the wagon gets a bit of a bounce on

yeah, they're not my cup of tea either. in fact I think that is a waste of a perfectly good 40, but thats only my opinion.
if I wanted to sit in a tractor seat, then I'd go buy a tractor.
