I did play around with a few different ideas before coming up with this final recipe.I think its quite a good set up,check it out....
Airbox for Hilux V8 SURF
Ok you will need the following.
1) A half decent Air Filter
2) Some "clean" piping (I used de-greaser).
3) Pod Filter adaptor + rubber gasket.
4) Some RTV silicone.
5) 4 bolts with nuts.
6) x4 SS hose Clamps.

Stage one is to remove the guts of the original airbox if it has any, clean it then wet&dry sand any rust or blemishes in preperation for some fresh paint.
Then drill the lid of the original airbox and bolt the new pod filter adaptor flange to the lid and silicone the rubber gasket and all the bolt holes and coat the bolt and nuts with more RTV.(for waterproofing).
Lid with pod adaptor (RTV silicone everywhere)

Then we have a closer look at the original air filter (absolutely knackered) and the new GRD designed pod/cold airbox.
OLD & NEW(ok I did kick the old one around a bit...

Then we put it all together and give it a half decent coat of paint and some more RTV in the nessecary places.
Fit the main part of the original airbox and newly made pod adapted lid together, for the final result.
RE-SPRAYED and ready to fit

And then the final stage of fitting either end to the engine supply end and the external intake end which ram feeds cool air through the Safari snorkel. Then just tighten up the hose clamps and start her up...

And she runs like a dream, great induction sound and obvious performance increase, and also peace of mind when the bonnet is under water.
GRAND FINALE
