I'm taking a Norwest club trip to Waitapheta this weekend on saturday (the 21st).
At this stage there aren't many Norwest trucks coming, so I have some free spots if anyone wants to come.
Waitapheta is an awesome track, in the Karangahake gorge area, with a bit of everything - mud, ruts, rock, and mud (especially after all this rain)
It is a grade 4+ track though, so you need to have a fully self sufficient and capable truck.
You also need to be a NZFWDA member and meet out club requirements which include:
Towhooks front & rear
First aid kit
Snatch strap
Fire extinguisher
Spade / shovel
Spare wheel, wheel brace and jack
Roll cage in open / soft top vehicles
If you're interested, reply here, or shoot me a PM

This would be the perfect trip to test out the Missile with the new V8 and lockers against my mighty zuk again

Be good if you can come.
And Skid... what sort of excuse is that? Cant you tell her she's adopted or something, and that her real birthday is a week later??

its a bit trickier than that, with the divorce and shit happening at the same time

but with more than 5 days notice, I could be a starter for the next trip, so long as you don't go somewhere that I have to have a winch, and I hate big water holes.

Yeah, will do... I think we'll go up that way to get across it first, rather than turn up there late in the day to find the whole hill is gone after all this rain.

Ben
We were planing to go that way too
Been the other twice this year, took us 26 hours the first time. That was with 2 out of the 5 truck braking down and over 100mm of rain while we were in there
The second time 3 trucks no brake downs, 5 hours
and next day did Thompsons, car park to car park and back again in 5 hours. A bloody good weekend
