Will keep my eyes open, may pay to invest in some lock nuts as well. I have them on all of my cars and no it wont stop the professional but will stop the average joe who carries round standard wheel brace

But hey tyres are really important in the scheme of things  Makes me laugh how people take the piss out of our cops but when the shit hits the fan you still ring them don't ya.

We need more police and they need to be better equiped to deal with the crap that happens. I respect them for turning up at accident scenes murders etc, but having them combined with traffic and regulating them to get X number of tickets is wrong Thanks Government.

My brother had his bike stolen and he sent to all the bike shops in the south island the frame serial number and a picture after 3 months he got it back (from Auckland) called the police and they took a month to get the details and follow the trail to the person who had stolen it unfortunatley they were australian and returned to Aussie two day's after the police started asking people where he was.

If the police still need a month to get onto a crime to clear it there is a problem with staff levels.

Yes in town at night I see them on the beat, great they do put up with a lot but we need more and they deserve some more respect.

New York goes for a Zero tollerance and they chase taggers and lolly thieves as well as biger criminals and in NY they noticed young people were not going into crime as being caught young they had more respect so overall crime droped by 30% in 5 years. Just cant find the original US Police site that had the document.

Insurance won't payout on components usualy you would have to use house and contents in this case as that covers property on the property.

I will keep an eye out is there anything unusual or unique about the tires?

4x BFG 31" Muds + 4x Sunraysia type wheels:

~$1300

..Or more than twice the average weekly wage.

Maybe $1300 isn't important if you're John Key but for the average person it sure is.

So a nice new shiney set of rims and some brand new tyres. hope your old tyres were well worn, so the scumbags who stole them don't get much use from them and in the end have done you a favour.

Sorry Smurf i wasn't taking the piss, but if we could fix some of the problems i mentioned in my first post for only $1300 then NZ would be a much better place to live.

I was thinking the same thing but with 35's

I don't think the problem is so much with the cops, they do the best the can with the resources given to them. The greater issue is around the courts who do sweet FA when the crim's are caught and if they are youth then they just get referred back to their parents. If there are no consequences for being caught except some mild inconvenience and for every charge it can take 100's if not 1000's of man hours, plus they all get a free scum bag lawyer who will drag it out for months some times years and if by some miracle they are found guilty then they just get a fine (which they never pay for) or have to give up a Saturday for the next few months, if it is really bad charge then they are jailed to their home, where they receive a benefit $$, sleep in everyday, smoke/deal drugs and play on their stolen PS2/3 on their stolen Plasma tv.

Thew, rant over

The other thing I cant understand with the courts is once their debt gets "too high" and the offender complain's if the JP's look at tit and say well yip it is too high we will wipe the debt.

then the offenders (I know of two who have done this) are able to go on their holiday to Fiji or Australia as they don't owe money to the courts.

Sad but true.
