bob, why would a Jeep have a jap 6 stud... come on man.. think man think  (but thanks for the offer anyway)

holden is not the same as ford.

and a jeep would have a six stud when the owner finally gets sick of breaking the running gear and changes it to stronger toyota stuff.

I did think, and assumed that even JEEP would eventually see the values in copying Toyota. We could always put blu-tac in one of the holes for you, that would make it a five stud?

I have no idea WHAT you are referring to unless you are thinking that

"NECESSITY is the mother of invention"? Perhaps?

and talking about star trek, I have just been watching 2001 - A Space Odyssey, HAL has just started acting up. An early version of an ECU maybe.

wopass.....on track... as in talking about the vx heading to thommos or on track as in pureora? who took it off the pureora track???? :D

Skid, "ford/holden" doesnt mean the "same thing" does it? it was meant to diefferentiate between ford and holden v all the jappas. If so and my grammer is incorrect by means of syntax than i stand corrected. :(

Ok I've got a day off either side of that weekend, thinking about extending this and shooting over to hawkes bay to see the old man after the trip ......a HB club trip somewhere over there would be good if I can find one

In terms of what to pack for the expidition what has the campground got...ie is there running water and a loo and stuff? and how far away are the nearest shops and gas stations?

Bla bla bla..............

Hey, anyone goin to be offended if i a take a rifle to pureora incase theres anything to spot light??

There is no fuel, pubs or supermarkets near by, so come self sufficient for three days, the nearest place with a servo and a 4 square would be about 45 mins away from the camp sight and closes at about 5pm. not toilets or water. (not even a stream). Nearest water is at the forest HQ, about a 20 - 30 min drive out of the forest down a narrow wiggly gravel road.

Tryin to find some pureora vids to post up

Provided you don't mind me bringing one as wel.
But seriously, I think their might be too many people. perhaps a smaller trip or go in for a recce, wish I could hold the light for you......
'

Ben, with this number of people coming, perhaps we SHOULD look at camping at Pureora, toilets, water ec etc. I know we will lose time getting under way, unless th etrip leader shouts orders etc?? The logistics of maybe twenty people all wanting to shit etc in such a confined area is not good. Fuel, we will have to carry a little spare perhaps, especially you big arsed petrol hogs.

Not coming, slowly giving up the 4wd thing. yeap got a map of the block tracks - can drop one in your olds letter box next time I'm up that way PM their number as I'm round the corner at my olds a bit.

I wouldn't take a rifle if you cant even find the stream at the camp area in the block  - It's right next to the corner bog just up the hill!!

A responsible ore association exec should also know that spotlighting is illegal on doc land and should'n't post such a recreation on the web  . And the local Benneydale lawman has been known to catch the odd spotlighter and charge them.

if you are thinking of a longdrop then there was a previous comment about hard ground, perhaps it would be worth checking with DOC as they may want it in a certain place or not, perhaps a working bee to help set up.

 Three days of mud, camping, no showers, no toilets, no running hot wtaer, no electricity, no cell phones. If you can't deal with that, then perhaps this trips not for you??

We can always organise another one for another time, and stay at the forestry HQ. This time, we are camping at the Ngaroma block

which pretty much excludes kids and, yes, wives/partners. roughing it is cool if ur on ur own, but with whanau in tow it can be a hassle not having amenities.

yep small stream right behind that hole (dont know whether I would drink it straight tho).

The toilet thing is more than likly going to be sorted at the camp site by Doc and taupo/King Country 4wd clubs. Doc have certain criteria for toilets that they need to strictly adhere to. It will happen as the blocks usage increases.
