Easy enough to bring safe water ... I have seen some nice portable water filters that will make water safe......

I could be interested,I know all the tracks as I'm a member of the King Country club and set alot of them up,as the photos show previous its a lot better know as the tracks are getting harder.We have a winter club trip there in a couple of weeks time so will have more fun there agian.As for toilets will be putting some there this summer still in contact with doc about this should know more in a couple of weeks time as have meeting with them then.

we were working on that with our club. We got information about used DOC dunnies that we could put there. So we are in the process of trying to work with DOC and pick a suitable camping area and fence it and dunny it etc etc.

and are doc requireing you guys to get all the resourse consents, building consents and discharge consents that they make us do for our bachs in the Orongo's

The way i see it, the trip was planned as someguys takin there 4x4's into the bush for the long weekend, camping as near to the area we were to explore in order to cover the as much ground as possible over the 3day period.
As a result we are camping at the Ngaroma block. Camping at the Ngaroma block is just that. CAMPING.
If you would rather cabins, toilets, hot running water and fast food, then this trip is not for you.
Perhaps the nature of the trip could have been explained by Ben or Myself better at the start of the thread, but seeing as this is an association trip, i guess that will be covered in the Trip Information Sheet in the Association News letter closer to the time.
The area caters for shinys as well as bush trucks, but the trip is largly aimed at finding tracks we haven't done in there before.
So if this sounds like to much for you, perhaps the go bush trip is more suited?? (is that still goin ahead aswell??)
OR, we split the trip into two seperate trips??
The softcore trip, stayin at the HQ and catering for families and shineys and the hardcore trip for the rest

Current block conditions are:
Good access road. Extreme care needed on the first 8.5kms because of logging trucks and forestry operations, lights on. Also watch for hunters and dogs on the road, on foot and in vehicles. Some scratchy blackberries etc on the last 7kms of the access road and then also expect scratches on the 4WD tracks. You are encouraged to help to clear the scratchy blackberries back off the tracks.
Some tracks are a little faint but follow the wheel tracks once in the block and they will all link up. Please do not create any more tracks or diversions around difficult parts or bogs, back track and use the next alternative route, there is no “dead endsâ€

How many days is it?! Seriously... we were at Rallywoods for 3 days without any creature comforts... surely you can last a couple of days without a shower. That's what buckets and flannels are for! Go back and read DieselBoy's post again... it makes good sense.
If you get really desperate then we have a 40 litre solar shower that we can heat up some water on a gas cooker and put in it for a shower or five.
But if you really can't do without then arrange to stay at the cabins. We won't be...

Well did Ngaroma 18-19th august six trucks had a good trip wet and MUDDY.access road to the block has now been mowed so you can tow all the way to the block we stayed in the lions club lodge $12 per adult each nite just got take your food and sleeping bags everything there you know lites toilets showers sleeps upto 58 people.Track coditons were very slippery lots of water did some track repairs had a very good weekend.
