ABS Repairs

Post by Cloggy_NZ »

Ok, not on my 4x4, but on Mrs Cloggy's Commodore...
The ABS unit is leaking. Took it around a couple of places this morning to get an estimate on repair costs. These places mentioned getting the ABS unit rebuilt saying there was a place in Christchurch and one in Tuaranga.
Anyone have any idea of the names of these places so I can contact them directly and (hopefully) save some dollars?

Managed to pick up a second-hand unit really cheaply.
Placed a wanted ad on Trade-Me and the first guy who replied had one out his Commodore which got rear ended with just 22000 kays on the clock. Perfect :D
My local Holden dealership quoted $1800 dollars for a new unit, $800 - $900 for a second hand one. A rebuilt unit was going to cost $985
So I am over the moon with paying just $300. Had to pull the units apart and swap the circuit boards to get the traction control to work but that was a piece of cake.
