Kinda Newbie in Wellington

Post by AF1zuk »

Hi All,

Joined this site a while back and have decided to actually get involved, will pay up soon too.

wagon is a 1985 SJ413 Big Block 1324cc soft-top. ARB bar on front, lame attempt at 4 point cage. Looks like amild suspension left at some atge in a former life.

Have set of 15 x 7.00 SAT's on Vitara rims. Also have set of 15 x 7 rims - any suggestions on what tyres to put on?

Hope to get out to Rally woods some time, went ther with a mates years ago.

Jerry/Ryan,

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I saw the rallywoods trip dates, that why I mentioned it.. hehe Sod it all i fly out to OZ for a week on the Saturday morning.. bugger!!

Will have to get my SH*T sorted for the 12th hopefully.

With regards to trips, do we need to have vehicles "scrutineered" by soemone prior or is it done at the start of trips?

I know CCVC say you have to have it checked by soem place like Grat Guy Motors etc etc..

come along to the Wainui coast trip.....if you get struck we'll just pick it up and lift it  oops sorry...... if its a harder trip then proper hooks and things are required, if its a shiny trip like this then things are a bit more relaxed.

Most clubs have requirements like hooks and things.

Just about can lift it with enough people!!! At a whopping 1030 kg with recovery gear in..

I have 3 rated hooks fitted at the mo - 2 front on ARB bar, and 1 at the rear..

Not sure about snatching off the front hooks, mind you I have never needed snatching yet most wagons can just tow a zuk without much effort!!

I just hate attempted a tow/snatch of any vehicle bigger than a zuk!
