lots of pro's and cons as everyone has already said

there's nothing scaryer than the security of engine braking down a really steep slope in your cruiser when the thing decides to pop out of gear at the worst possible moment

and that water in the clutch thing can happen real easy and its not a good place to lose drive when the waters pouring over the bonnet :?

I'm with niblik each to their own.

The auto on steep issue is same as carbs on steep and engine oil on steep. all comes down to design and quantity at pick up.

gonna put a SR20DE nissan motor and auto in my suzuki and get custom sumps for both to sort of replicate the suzuki 1300 sump

Will hold more oil to. Boy racers put doors into sumps to slow oil movement on cornering same sort of thing Keeping oil around pick up.

I've finally got the deep pan for the transmission. Should be changing it this weekend. It holds an extra litre or so, has a deeper pick-up and a drain plug.
