help pls! re ifs front driveshafts

wonderin if any of you surf owners can help... mate has a 90 surf with big lift and 33s still ifs and is makin nasty grinding noises from front driveshafts i think. never owned an ifs so i not sure... have heard about some bushings or somethin that wear? any help be great cheers. and if anyones done sas and has ifs to sell would be keen. tryin to convince him to go solid but he wont yet.

so have any of you guys got any ideas as to what it mite be. he not keen on doin sas wants to sell it is only young and off to uni next year and we all know somethins always breakin!

for a nasty grinding noise i would suggest the front diff or cv's but more likely the diff from my experience. they are weak and break easily. jack the front end up and with it in 4wd spin one wheel and the other should spin the opposite direction. It should spin smoothly, if it any stage it locks up or gets hard then the diff is most likely stuffed.

If it does spin smoothly, with the front up you should be able to isolate the noise abit better. see how you get on.
