The lifted Jeep XJ near the beginning of the video looks great. Any details of what sort of lift and other mods.

Cheers

It looks like the XJ from Christchurch, which has a imported bolt on 6" lift kit from the states, Rick from 4wd accessories brings those kits in, he knows just about everything to do with Jeeps as he races an XJ
Its NOT a whale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more like a large seal

Thanks guys, I have located the owner - thanks to Peter

I have been in contact with Nick from Chch in the past too

An XJ is a Cherokee, we know them as Cherokee's in NZ, in the US they are more commonly known as an XJ

Cheers

Hey Ian, My XJ in the video clip has a 4.5" Rubicon Superlex lift kit. Other mods include Rancho adjustable shocks & JKS disconects. Have also lowered Transfer case to reduce any vibrations. Also run 32" Simex when playing in the mud.

Thanks Shiney, that seems to be a good choice of kit, good looking truck. I hope to have one looking similar over the next while.

Did you import the stuff yourself, or did you source it locally

I feel sorry for the dude with the dead quad bike! (at the end of that clip)
If he was riding what I ride THAT wouldn't happen. :D
Here's a clip of a real utility 4x4 quad bike. It rules, BIG time!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAqoir-Hh9M

It's a twin injected Rotax powered Vtwin 800cc beast. It's the Can-Am Outlander. Just watch it blow the others away. 8)

All parts imported from US. Also another MOD was a mate of mine in Nelson installed a switch for the Auto so i can switch between 1st and second gear manually. And the quad bike lived.

Yes, that is one MOD that I am looking at doing too, along with the one to lock-up the torque converter for extra down hill braking.

I just came across http://www.awshifting.com who sell a whole controller to allow full control of the AW4 in the Cherokee.
