Central Otago Training ground Trip

Post by Mikey »

Last weekend some of us from the local club headed down to Central 4WDs training grounds. Had an awesome day as the photos show. This area is a real asset to the Central Club, and an excellent playground to have at your doorstep. Cheers for the invite.

Cheers
Mike

Cheers guys it was an awesome day. There's is really much Land Rover in it; Home built chassis, cruiser running gear, and a falcon engine. A bit of a mongrel so to speak, but boy can it go :D

Unfortunately didn't get many pictures of the gravel play area, as I was fixing a broken alternator belt on my truck. But there were some challenging steep, slippery shingle hill climbs to get up.

I was in the first group of Central guys to go have a look before we got it off the rec club. Was great fun.. that last hill climb's tricky as, (hardly any run up) I got upto the last 12 meters in the standard prado. That bog holes infamous too ;-)

Yeah, that was a bit of a tricky hill climb, manged to claw all the way up in Mistral, much to the surprise of the onlookers. Can't wait to go back at some stage.
