How long does it take to get to Tangimoana from Fielding or Palmerston North.

I'm in th HB so just trying to work out how early I would have to get up to get there by 10am

I could possibly have a spare seat too

About 20-30mins from Feilding, Its 40Ks from Feilding.

There is the Boat Club at Tangimoana but I'd have to check access out first. Failing that no reason we cant have a barby. You will need to bring lunch anyway.

I think you'll enjoy what we have planned. yep other good trips are the Orua River, Manawatu River/Ashhurst - depends on river levels. Taihape, Scotts ferry, Takapari Road (short trip)....

I'll put up more details soon, ie an assn tripsheet. get your hooks sorted now and join the ORE Assn now if you haven't yet (2-3 trips pays for it anyway) join here http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules ... x&cPath=38

Bring your 4wd assn membership cards (or confirmation emails), if you don't join then you will need to pay a visitor fee to cover yourself.

ok, i have joined ORE ( yay for me) and are working om my towhooks as we type... one question ( and i know towhooks is a touchy subject) i plan to make new endplates to mount a towbar i have, if i make the plates from 5mm can i also use the end plate ( bolted to chassis with 8.8 bolts) to mount a tow hook??? and do the said tow hooks work if mounted side on? or do i need the plate to have a fold( ie "L" style to mount the hook upright? sorry for all the q but i want to get it right and there is no real easy place on a hilux ute back-end......

cheers!!!

Bugger, looks like it's going to be a good trip.

Mmmmmmm.... in one hand I have a Coastguard block training course to fast-track my Masters ticket which I have wanted to do for a while and it's finally been organised for that date, or in the other we have a fun days 4wding in a place that we haven't been (and I like exploring) with a good bunch of people...

Responsibility vs fun. Fun vs responsibility. What a decision

Is it just me but how did this trip go from Johns very nice invite to ANYONE who wants to go on a drive down the beach to Jerry's insistent questioning about fee's and ORE Assn membership.

Jerry, if John wanted us to pay a fee, he would have said, he's not shy in coming forward, stop insisting we pay

And why are you telling people to pay their ORE Assn fee's when the invite was a open one.

Stop over-organising and micro-managing the trip.

The way I read it John has sent us a open invite for a wee drive and not asked us to mobilise the movements of the Third Reich

Or do I need another cup of coffee
