3.0 Prado to sell

Post by fweddy »

Looking to sell a 3.0 Turb Prado (1kz).

Its about a 94 LWB with highish ks. Engine seems very good (no smoke even under heavy throttle) - runs very nicely. Interior is very good. Body is sound but some paint flaking on the bonnet and guards. I'm going to tidy it up to sell but if some one is interested in getting one to use offroad you may not be too worried about the paint and I'll be happy to sell before doing all that tidying up. My brother has used it offroad a couple of times to come out with me in my truck and it is quite capable as is (its very original spec tho).

If interested in more details leave a note or PM me.

Hi Mal - PM Sent

Image

This is the Prado here - It is the late 70 series LWB 8 seater with beam axle and coil springs all round. The kms are up around 295,000. Engine is still strong, no smoke even on heavy throttle, performs well. Trans all goes as it should.

For a good road cruiser there are a few wee things that could do with being done. It has the bit of paint fade, I think the steering damper may need some attention some time and there is a bit of a noise in the back (bearing maybe).

Currently has a crack in the wind screen but I'll get that replaced.

I am looking at doing all the wee tidyups, paint etc but will let it go as is if someone wants a to do the work them self or are not worried about paint cond etc.

I have noticed there aren't many of the 3.0L (1KZs) to compare. These engines do over half a million kms if maintained. We are running these engines in a 90 series prado and in a hiace van too.

+s Body work straight, interior very good, engine and trans strong, tyres still got plenty of life, pretty much everything works as it should except fog lights aren't hooked up.

-s kms up, paint clearcoat damage on bonnet and guard, bit of a shake in steering at high speed after hitting a bump, bearing type noise in back.

Any one welcome to come view and test. Happy to show you a little off road with it too if interested. I'm out Rangiora way.
