Here's my Land Rover.

1974 SWB Series 3 with a LD28 in line six Nissan engine, on tractor grip tyres. A bit rough, but there aren't many places it won't go. At the moment it being used to pull and feed out silage bales each weighing in at just over a ton around a particularly steep and Slippery South Otago farm. That much weight on the back definaltly makes trying to reverse back down a slippery clay hill from a failed ascent particularly interesting

- Defineatly a case of the the tail wagging the dog :lol:

- It's one way to hone your off road skills any way :roll:

OK so I started off with this......

This is my Landrover, when i first got it.

Then after a fair few hours work, it turned into this:

Then i brought this for offroading, which i have now sold, to buy my latest toy, to be used in place of this.

suppose i had better do the honorable thing and put the broken one on, just one of the hundreds of ex arm landys.
1985 109 with the Rover 3.5 V8, removed governers, has a ford v8 electronic ignition setup, mounted some spotlights on the bull bars and recovery hook up front, has the old SAT's from the army, pintol tow hook for moving the howitzers around, still have the canvas top but leaks if water sits on it too long. has factory centre diff lock, and currently a broken cv or axel, haven't had enough free space in the garage to start pulling things to bits. currently looking for a land cruiser to use off road as this is just to big and heavy.

Noooo... I was looking for a Vitesse just before I bought my current junker... I would love one... Had a couple of SD1's and have a real soft spot for them... even my Wife has a soft spot for them :shock:

Nice, I dont think a day goes by without me getting blamed/abused for something on here :roll:

Got hooked on 4wding, namely Landys, from day dot. Dads 1957 series 1 holden powered, SATs, all the token Landy mods, first memory in it was this. He still has it and its still warrented and gets around the bush now and then

Have owned too many british products since settling with the zuk, but there were about 5 rangies, couple of Discos and a 110, however still have half shares in this project awaiting time I will never have, NZs ugliest half cab conversion (previous owner did it), aleast its certified. Some cool plans for it, but yeah, one day

My first landrover..... a discovery few mods etc :roll:

sold that recently as I have aquired a new project....yes a landy :roll:

its a bit of a bitsa but its all good

It had a 3.5L v8 adapted to the series box and apparntly the motor has only done 25,000 miles and was out of a SD1 but the starter motor has shit itself so we dont really know if it turns over or not. Turoa has swapped me that kit for his 202 fuel injected which we put in last weekend. If anybody is keen for the v8 and gearbox etc make tu's a offer :wink:

Its got a full rolll cage etc and used to trial back in the day.....don't really know what the plans for it are yet....see where the twisted landrover road takes us.....

It is indeed, 1971 I think, Fully restored and all original at a cost of 17,000GBP!!!! The series one landy that was on the farm was fully restored by a film company when they borrowed it, that would have cost them alot too... btw we called it the "Yellow Peril"

Also if you look at this you'll see some more interesting vehicles ;-)
