fj40 parts needed (random!)

hey there, I am just in the middle or actually very close to getting my FJ40 back on the road. Took it in for a warrant check to see what needed sorting....

I am missing a few bits.... I need sun visors (both left and Right) also a front Passenger Seat belt (must be tear free) plus the latch with stalk to match. happy to pay freight.... I live in Riverton (invercagill) BUT am in dunedin on friday for the day if anyone in Dunedin has any bits they want to part with...

Also after a roof for the truck at some stage....

Yeah I am still keen.... I have tried Trade Me.... what a pain that was, found 3-4 trucks for sale for parts and a wrecker in Nelson - e-mailed them all and have had replies and I said how much and no reply!!! has been a real pain!

Anyway, I am keen for 2 sun visors and a retractable seat belt with latch on a long stalk...

If you have them that would be awesome, how much do you want? including postage? I would imagine it not to be too bad for postage, all pakaged up it shouldn't weight too much....

Also, I kinda need them asap as I need to have it by Friday so I can get the recheck done on Monday bofore I have to pay for another check...

Surely you could get most of that stuff from a local wrecker? Or try my favouraite - a visit to the nearest car crusher or the local council to take bits off abandoned cars before they get crushed. I've got lots of free bits that way - seats, seatbelts, windscreen washers, etc

went back to the truck for the first time in 3 months today, but the seatbelts i have have now packed up and wont pull out and i cant find the bit that it clips into, might not have come with it

and now cant find the visors.

what year is it.
I have 2 visors off a 75 cruiser. wiper motor up top.

They are buried in my lockup, I think. Will have a look on the weekend when I'm there and let ya know.

Do they have to be off a cruiser? I have got all the bits you need in Invers which I'm sure you could fabricate in?

Well thanks for the offers, I managed to find some visors - got some hilux ones from the wreckers and made them fit - It was interesting tho.... those visors are worth some money!!! The FJ40 Cruiser visors are 40-50 bucks each from a wrecker!!! The hilux pair I got were $25 for pair... I was talking to the guy and he was saying that the 1990 -1994ish Subaru Leagacy visors fetch up to 70-80 bucks each!!! So look after those visors!!!

Seat Belt.... The garage I was getting my warrant at had one that did the trick....

All I need to do now is get a puller to get my tie rod ends off to replace my steering idler for the warrant....

You are located in Invers? Are you in a club or something? once my truck is on the road I am keen on getting involved somewhere in the 4wd scene again.... My Brother in law (has a Daihatsu Feroza) is also keen...

Also keen to find some good local tracks to go play on.... I live 5-10min drive from the Longwoods - plenty of tracks in there to play on but also keen to et out and about...
