Still thinking about mine......looking at a removable base to go over the highlift that sits on the internal wheelwells and secures to the rear floor mount and the seat mount. and then mounts for boxes etc on top of this...

Spent alot of time building a custom fitting rear tray unit for my surf
Sub-Woofer , amp mountings , sliding trays, compartments etc.
Made it out of MDF and covered it all with carpet

Looks fantastic, fits fantastic :?

Pity the weight of the unit empty made my rear suspension sag

So its sitting in the shed as a template for round two.

Will make it alot :!: lighter next time

I made this up the other day, didn't take long and its not flash but has really helped keep things sorted back there

The H/L jack doesn't live there - just there temp as the spare tyre mount for it broke.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

Here's my effort: (scroll down the page a bit)

http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2123&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80

I still haven't made alu drawers up, the cheap plastic bins that slot in are too useful. If doing it again I'd possibly size them around some beefier fish bins.

If it breaks, build it stronger.
If it doesn't break, drive it harder.

Thanks, I'm happy with it, it's that fake grass stuff & is brilliant stuff, buy it by the metre at the Warehouse, comes off big rolls usually sitting out the front. I also covered the entire rear floor with in & bolted the rear seats through it to hold it firmly in place. Easy to trim and a gun stapler is all thats needed to put it on. The shelf itself is all screwed together with wood screws and made with mostly 5 ply.
