Sounds like its going to be a convoy. I really appreciate your comments and thoughts, its also nice to see people using there "real" names.
Its been two weeks now and hasn't got any easier, I'm so glad i'm self employed. I don't know what it would be like to have to deal with this and try and work as well. The boys at work have been absolutely fantastic, some were supposed to be on holiday but have altered their plans so i don't have to hurry back, which is great. Rachell (my wife) is doing it real hard, as are we both, it still seems so pointless, how does a perfectly happy and healthy baby just not wake up?? specially at 14 months old. The thing that makes this harder is that when i was 17 i lived with my older sister and her husband. They had a wee girl who also died from cot death when she was 10 weeks old. That was hard at the time but you think well its happened in our family now so the rest of us should be safe. You see and hear stories of children who are mistreated and unloved and you wonder why didn't this happen to them, they would have been better off but thats not how it works is it? Lily, Murphys twin sister, is adjusting as well as can be expected but Eden our eldest (2 1/2) is definitely experiencing difficulties. She has developed a real phobia with water, doesn't like things in the bath or pool shes scared they'll go down the plug hole and not come back  not quite sure how to deal with this, at the moment its lots of talking and cuddles. Depending on how bad it gets or how long it lasts we may have to take her to see someone. I was planning to bring her on Sunday but might have to rethink that plan. Would be wierd though, coming on a family trip that is for my family and arriving on my own after leaving the family at home :? Any way enough of my rambling have posted a pic of the wee fellow taken the day before he died. I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Hi Jase, rambling/talking is good for you and reading your ramblings keeps you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
GOOD workers have GOOD bosses, I called into the factory yesterday and caught up with some of the team ---- and yes you are a good work mate , friend and boss.
IF for any reason you don't make it on Sunday we will all understand and the Mcleod family will be close to all our thoughts ---- and ACTION'S.
RED SMOKEY has had a new distributor fitted, new WOF, half a tank of petrol (can't afford a full tank$$$$), smoke box topped up and already for the plunge, this trip has made me get off my backside and get --- as my wee grandson calls it --- Mopar's (my granddad name, short for Maurice's par, plus I'am a Chrysler fan) Big Monster Truck, back in the Dirt.

REMEMBERING MURPHY,

H2OLOVA, it is with some authority and postgraduate qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health that I can catagorically assure you that Eden's response is not uncommon of a young child coping with separation and loss. And know well that the ways in which Rachael and yourself are supporting her are exactly that which will best meet her needs at this time, and positively contribute to her future development.

I've PM'd you some additional advice & suggestions which may be helpful, and am more than happy to assist & guide from within a professional capacity at any time.

Sunday's trip is a way for your 4wd family to mark their respect and offer practical support - please don't feel at all obligated to attend. Serve that which best addresses the needs of your family, and know that we wholly respect and support you in that.

Thanks for that info Leithfield, I would be keen to have a chat and get some advice for the future. I will definitely be coming out on Sunday and still hope to bring one of the kids, but will play that by ear.

Looking forward to getting out and spinning the wheels.

I've read all the comments over the past few days and I still have trouble imagining what you and your family are going through.
We have 3 children aged between 5 and 12 and there is no way I could begin to imagine one of them not being here.
Be grateful for who you have. Cherish them.
Our thoughts are with you.

Al, if you want a ride in a Nissan, I'll have a seat (or to anyone else that needs a ride)

WAIPARA RIVER RECCE REPORT 0730 14/01/07
After light rains last evening, the Waipara is running fresh and clear. Today's MetService forecast for the area predicts a high of 25, with light scattered showers (less than 0.5mm in total) anticipated around 3pm.

Again, today's remembrance and support trip is suitable for all 4wd vehicles (not cars) equipped with Imagerated tow hooks and carrying rated recovery ropesImage. As with all river trips, a snorkel is strongly advised Imagebut not mandatory.

We will assemble on the grass verge immediately north and just left of Pukeko Junction* @ 1100, departing no later than 1115.

* Pukeko Junction is a cafe/winebar situated approximately 16 minutes North of Woodend, and prior to Amberley. Heading North from Christchurch, it is on the left side of State Highway 1, immediately opposite the signposted (R) turnoff to Leithfield Beach.

Hope to see you there.

Leithfield

Thanks Leithfield (Kevin) for organising today. Great day out and what an awesome turnout, well done to all. It is nice to see that when it really matters that the guys are there for our fellow 4WD junkies.

Hope you had a great day jase and God Bless You and your family.

Great day out today, very nice turnout and the weather couldnt have been better :D

it was funny to see H20LOVA eyeing up a water hazard which was measuring up to the top of nibbys shoulder on old stickometer!! infact he had the bonnent in and i bet his foot was umming and arrring between the break and gas pedals!

Last night I was debating whether to put the roof on the LR and if I had it would have stopped me getting burnt to a crisp today. Note to self - wear a hat on sunny days with no roof on

See you all on the next trip :D

was my first trip in truck since fitting marlin crawler, new front suspension, and crossover steering in the lux...all I can say is if anyone is thinking of doing similar mods, stop thinking and do it :!: my only bum note is that I didn'r take the time and do it sooner

What an awesome day. It was quite overwhelming for me to see so many trucks lined up to show their support for my family. I think we counted 25 trucks in all, which was amazing to see travelling together out to the river. One of the guys even had a photo of Murphy on his dash so he could come along for the ride, which bought a tear to my eye. It was great to see all the families having a great time together as opposed to the usual gathering of guys talking crap  and certainly stopped the 4WD talk from getting to in depth. Eden really had a great time which certainly made my day. By the end of it she even had some of the names sorted (Smokey was a hit but she thinks your truck must be broken :) )She certainly slept well last night and even had a quick nap on the way home. Because the battery in my camera went flat  I would be keen to see as many photos posted as possible so i can show Rachell. Is it possible to put them all into one album? Maybe Mike?? I'll leave that up to you, see what you can do
To everyone who has posted comments, sent cards, donations, baking, etc and to those who helped organise yesterday I really don't know what to say to you all except a great big "Thank You". The support you have all shown during the last few weeks has been an unexpected blessing and i just can't put into words how touched we've been.(not without writing a book  ) Please know that i am most grateful to you all.
