whakapapa river bridge 42 traverse

Post by spanky »

the bridge at the owhango end of the traverse is closed to all access as from today, has been open to foot and bikes/quads but now completly closed as the bridge has dropped between 3 to 5 cm at the western end from being undermined by the river.

Had a look at it today, the bridge has had it. Hopefully they will do something about it fairly quick otherwise they will have to put a whole new bridge in if it bends

you should all know this anyway, but it shouldn't matter to you as 4wd users at the moment.

You should all be aware of the fact that the 42 is closed to 4wd activity from April 30 - December 1 each year.

So if you were thinking about going for a run through there soon. Then don't please.
There are a lot of people who put in a lot of hard work to get this area re-opened, and it would be a shame if 1 or 2 of you ruined it for the rest of us.

Cheers
