Trader Feedback section

Post by TJ »

There is a product review / 4wd service review section for reporting commercial traders and our experiences with them.

I think there is a need to have a feedback mechanism for trades down by ORE members with each other. This just provides people some insight into whether the other person is reliable or just blowing smoke. I know most regulars here are good people (and very helpful), but it took me a long while to learn that from watching other people interact with each other.

What do others think? This could be similar in nature (nor necessarily the form) of the feedback section on Trademe and other sites.

Not a bad idea at all

Easy enough to setup

If Mike was to setup a heading called "Member Feedback" and the instructions would be simple.

Before starting a new topic in this area please check that the users name is not already in the topic list.
If it is open the topic and "Post reply" to added your comments about that user.
If there is no topic for the user that you want to post a comment on, start a new topic with only the persons user name in the subject line.

What do others think ??

Kind or harks back to an idea that was thrown about a while ago, similar to Pirate, where you can have standard members, paying members and paying 'suppliers' - that last one gives you the right to sell, give away and promote product on their forum... and there is a forum section for talking about members and businesses on the forum...

In fact one of their highlights is a guy called Wenzel... if you haven't heard of it then google it...

Feedback is a great idea...

Having said all that - if someone was pissed at someone else on here they would probably post their pissed offness anyway... and if people do look after people then that has a way of coming back to them as well... recommendations in posts etc...

If we had a vendor section like steve is talking about yes... but since we don't then I'm gona say its redundent
As for stuff privatly advertised here.... most parts or trucks here are listed on trademe and linked here, and trademe's feedback is there for those interested

And for those of us doing a bit of "on the side" engineering, me, Supralux, Jafa and a few others... if people have a beef with us state it in a build thread  let the shit fly, I think our work can speak for us

If its a mate and your not happy whats the piont of airing it here

As for local shops arrr that could be interesting legally ?? anyone know much on liability law

Well, my idea was that a lot of us know each other - thats wonderful. But someone new joins, they are not aware of the history and takes a while to know if doing any trades (even at mates rates). I would prefer to sell my offroad stuff here (or to someone from ORE) than simply put on trademe. But thats just me.

I love it when someone make my post completely redundant ....

I pointed out how it could be done and Reece has shown us why it is not required ....

I would have to agree with Reece on every point
