Post by SupraLux »

Ok, as per my thread about Trade Me in off-topic I'm selling the Bighorn parts everywhere except there from now on. If you need parts, let me know.

Are there any bits you would suggest for my old beast? (87 Bighorn)...

I'm still planning to pay you a visit and pick your brains on what can be done mod wise with mine... maybe I should have a list in hand for when I arrive at your gate

I'm in the market for a 'genuine' front right outer CV and boot.

Also a brake master cylinder (though i've been recommended to buy new and not take chances with secondhand.... though i'm sure you wouldn't sell me anything dodgy  )

Sorry but I chopped the CVs when I pulled the IFS and then threw the lot out :(

I have the brake master cylinder etc tho... and if you're worried about the condition you can have it checked, and even fit / use it before you pay for it if you like :) (was it someone selling you a new one that recommended you don't buy second hand?)

How does $50 sound

hehe, funny how there's always some mug willing to hand over money for something you just threw out

My mechanic suggested that when it comes to important stuff like brakes, you shouldn't take any chances with parts that 'may' fail (and possibly kill you in the process) seemed like wise advice at the time  but I guess if I get it all checked out and it comes back fine, I can't see any issues with that.

$50 Sounds pretty good :D I will give you a call later in the week to sort out the finer details.

Interesting theory - I think I'd trust a factory original second hand part over an aftermarket new one... Plus the factory part has been tested (for 15 years :P)

Anyway, look forward to your call...

Hi Steve,
Would the steering box fit in an '89 ??
If so ... how much ??
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.
