wheel lock light means that your automatic hubs are locked.

should be on the bottom row of lights on your display (was on mine till the bulb blew). The 4WD light (has a pic of 4 wheels and the t/box) means that the transfer case is locked and it is in 4WD mode.

to disengage the wheel lock light u have to be in 2WD and reserve back a few meters which turns the auto hubs off.

thanks for that, can i change from auto to manual hubs? only thought that when decending a steep hill the auto hubs click out and are not locked and the back are only working. my terrano use to unlock when decending and once i put manual locking hubs on it was all fours working full time.

how do i lock the centre diff is there a way thats easily changable?

Hi, your gen 1 doesn't have a centre diff. Its the same as a Hilux etc, move the lever and your in 4WD.

You can get manual hubs. You need 25 spline ones, I'm sure AVM or Aisin ones are available. If you are going to be doing a bit of 4WDing with it then they are a wise idea.
