AVM or Aisin

hi guys,which of the two brandsn of manual hubs do u guys reckon is beter quality and how much do u think either should cost 2nd??cheers

I haven't heard of Aisin but understand AVM to be only average

I run a safari and it had AVm hubs on when I bought it. Smashed them up quite easily down the Selwyn, now have superwinch and they have no problems yet. I had warn on the terrano and I could never seal them from the water. Alot of the toyota boys run asin so try the toymota section.

aisin is original toyota, and are better than avm.

Toyota factory ones, aka Aisin are the best.... Use em if you got em.

stay with the cruiser asain hubs built stronger and are easier to work with as the avms use alan keys and the heads always pack up with mud

I've had Warn, AVM and Aisin on various truck's without any problems :wink:

But I guess it sounds like Aisin is the way to go :wink:

Aisin are very good, BUT, the way I see it, I'd much rather break an easy to replace and relatively cheap hub than do CV's and axles.

A couple of mates ran AVM hubs on their Bighorns, both had issues with them.
One had a new hub fly off whilst doing 80km down the main road, 3 days after fitting them (new) to his truck.
Having said that my Surf currently has a set on it, that it came with, and I have given them a decent work out over the past year and they are fine. Though I do have a brand new set of Superwinch hubs in the shed waiting...
I wouldn't mind having a set of Aisin hubs though

Aisan......loads of people have recommended them, don't touch (is it?) ERG or something...MarkR has shattered 2 of them so far on his prado :oops:

,na truth is ive already given 1st buying rights to my mate and hes said yes thankyou very very much so unfortunatly theres none forsale,but if i come accross anymore ill let uz all kno,also does anyone kno what sorta price tag these things have??
