Had a great day. Little bit scary going up the rutted track, or maybe it just got scary when the hilux had a close call. Thanks to everyone that made it happen.

you should have stayed the night where you would have seen Saddam (who only fell on his ass once) and Curly chasing a possum round the woolshed

One of the best quotes of the weekend must be "I need a big boy to give me a quick tug"

And that was from Sadam, bear in mind that I was stuck in the cab with him at the time

Although if Stinky could of pulled a bit harder it wouldn't of been a problem, but he wasn't big enough. He could only manage four quick tugs before he realised he was out of his league.

Thankfully Reece has a bit more 'substance' to his ride and did the job with ease.
Mind you he did coment that it was a hard extraction and he got jerked around a bit

So what were you and him doing in the toilet together   I thought it was Bubba's job to be the dodgy one

I'm just trying to remember all the other good quotes

And the Glovebox "Fairy" was rather busy today..... that $20 you left in mine paid for my diesel all weekend  you didn't have to.

Another cool trip, thanks for organising it Jerry, I havent had so much fun since the last trip :thumright:

my fuel consumption ended up working out just over 1 litre per Km but worth every drop of it  :!: Now I've got to waterblast the tons of mud off the truck and replace the buggered cv :?

As Sadam's winch bitch this weekend, I feel that when he screams "I need a blunt item right now" from in the toilet, my only reply has to be "I will use my foot!!!!" and I rush in to help ( they were steel caps )

I don't care if you all retract in horrer when Sadam walks back into the room with a broom in his hand and a hand full of hair

Thanks guys for a great weekend. I haven't laughed that much in a long time.
Just remember that when the sh.it hits the fan, it was probably thrown by the Wellington ORE Members ( and I won't mention the water fight between Jerry, Cloggy and Reece's young blood )

Another good day (yesterday) in the mud of Terawhiti.
However I paid for it today with a couple of hours behind a waterblaster - and I only have a small truck!!!.

What happened to Sadam's truck (the last of your photos?

cheers

That was a great day out. Pity I couldn't stay to witness the possum antics!

No damage that I'm aware of, just a bit of mud in the passenger footwell from being stuck in that bog too long with it above the bottom of the door. I'm surprised that I haven't seen any photos of me getting winched out of there actually.

Will definitely sort out some front towhooks on the new bar after that exercise. I had planned to just swap the removable hook from the back to the front when needed (until I get a more permanent setup up the front), but when that broke it kind of stuffed it up a bit didn't it!

Yep, but it was still a good and well executed recovery in the end.
I am certainly impressed by that "little" 9000lbs winch on Mark's Land Cruiser. Always thought that 9000lbs was a little on the light side but to see it pull your not so light truck through that mud on a single line pull was pretty impressive. Certainly affirmed Mark's comment that you get what you pay for with winches. It didn't even get hot.
I will now think twice or even three times before handing over my hard earned cash on a Chinese winch (which I was considering)
