spent the entire weekend at the Taupo 1000.
The boys built the truck in 9 days, and arrived at the event with an untested truck. they finished after rolling on both days and we had to put in a few hours on saturday night to straighten it out.

There were only 3 entries in the winch truck class and they all finished. Unfortunately the G Guy motors entry of Rogers didn't finish both days and Jono's hilux now has a hole in the block.
Awesome weekend, recommend it to every one to get involved next time.

If you mount the rear shocks in the front side of rear diff housing you can use the crossmember that is already there, that's where mine are  although they look better mounted on the back side, That's what Dad did.

By the way............when are you coming back down :P

My weekend consisted of two days at work, 9 callouts, 8 of them medicals :x

got some maintainance done on my truck ie repaired breaks and cleaned up the section.
after thursdays track maintainance found out i had siezed up my rear breaks lol .
since im off wrk every chance i get im going out clearing up some of the tracks we use so we can keep them open for use .
over the last 3 wks have been on quite a few trips clearing up tracks and am continuing to do so in the hope that this will apease the powers to be to ensure our vast selection of local tracks stay open to use for further use in the future

I spent Sunday at the workshop, watched a tip trailer hoist go bang when it was fully lifted, not cool

The "old" red one stayed there saturday night, the owner went back to Whakatane, took an axle out of his wifes wagon, and returned on sunday to fit it and get out....... :( "It's a Jeep Thing - aww shit not again!"

Should really get a spare couple of axles myself......

Yep, great effort from the boys in 899, they came in 3rd in their class.

After being told by an Aucklander that they'd never have it done in time there was never really any doubt that the Nissan would be on the start line

Cheers
