Diff for 94 Prado

Post by fweddy »

My 94 Prado is pretty noisey in the back end (whiney annoying sound), figuring it is pinion slop??

Looking for recommendations to solve this, What would be the best solution?

Was thinking to just replace cabbage with another used but good one etc? Just full open is fine.

Selling truck so don't want to spend heaps but still want it to be good for purchaser.

Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

...will suit the '94 3.0L Prado

and/or are the 80's hiace diffs the same?

Who are our diff experts?

Do you just want a diff head? or will ring and pinion do?

The R&P for the Prado rear is a Hilux Diesel non Turbo. Not sure if the casing is the same though. It should be, but I wouldn't bet on it.
