hi there i not sure about the ford/ mazda set up but on toyotas you remove the calaper bolts rotate or slid the calaper off the disk whilst the old pads are still in the calaper use a "F" clamp and clamp the plunger back into the clalper unit, caution when you do this as in will push the fluid back into the brake reservoir. you will need to remove the cap first and have some body watching the reservior levels, you may have to drain the fluid out using a facuum type tool or a syringe type tool.
once you have clamped the plungers back enough to alow for the new pads to fit over the disks reinstall the calapers ensuring that the bolts are tight. when every thing is put back together slowly push the foot brake peddle a lillte bit at a time again having somebody watching the reservior do not allow the reservior to become empty. you will feel the brake peddle become hard . you should not have to bleed the brakes asuming that you keep the reservior full of fluid
good luck and give us a progress report once done.
the replacement is not hard but it needs to be done properly if you have any doughts take it to a machanic and have them run there eyes over it.
cheers mudlva
