spoke to organiser today, he said chance on one or two more entries,
give Nev a call if interested, number on tread, also said we will do two complete rouinds of the corse, so if you don`t get it the first time
try harder next time.

Im guessing if you missed out they would have rung you

Yeah, I'm guessing that's the case Matt. I am still going to call them today for peace of mind. Can the ORE crew set up near 4wd Accessories as I have a foot in both camps this time. Hosehustler even managed to score a set of 32" Simex's for the terrano for the day. Shit hot, mud will be flying everywhere now  I hope some of you spectators will be out there taking good quality vids and pics and post them up ASAP please.
Al

I think we should start a poll on how long it takes AL to pop the drive line(dry course, simex's,AL's right jandle  )

Cleaned the west coast mud from tyre beads(no leaks now)removed winch to be serviced, save some weight might be under 2.5Ton now :D
pump some diesel in the tank and we'r good to go,no laughing though

do we need stack hats?

Hah, Hah, F***ing HAH.
For the record, it was the Loburn trial that I rolled, broke the Cv and gave a mechanic lesson on cv changing. Shit loads less weight in the truck now. I want the Simexs to cover the crowd in mud, if there is any.
And there are port-a-loos out there for you's that have to squat to take a leak. I think you should run a book on PR going over/breaking something.

well it has a little more power than the safari and well as you know i wasn't complaining about power in your truck. but then again its a v8 and tunning is everything in petrol motors. can't wait to see it go on sunday.

i have been looking at past years pics and talking to a few people and they rekon that its so dry that even the trucks without lockas will go well out there. i just wonder how different it will be this year with the new course lay out
im getting excited now "ONLY 3 SLEEPS TO GO PEOPLE" :bounce:

i have got the truck ready and have trained the co-driver up. so it will be me steering and emmas navagations, hmmmm this will get interesting. :?

Sounds like you'll be good to go Steve.
I've gotta few things to do before I'm ready.
1. Get recovery hooks put on the front.
2. Install the locker switches in the dash.
3. Get the transfer gear shift changer working properly.

Fingers crossed.

Yeah i only knew I was entered just a couple of days ago. Before then there was no rush to get things finished. Now it's a different story.
Corey will be onto it today with any luck. But he's been really busy lately. I've got the day off tomorrow so I'll be able to help him out as much as I can.
Can't wait to get the fuel mapping better on it. It has a real flat spot down low when you give it the beans. I have to feather it.

The forecast is for rain on Sunday. With the ground being so dry, it won't take too much for the holes to fill with water. Should be good to watch. I will be armed with both video, and still camera. Looking forward to seeing Petes FJ40 in action.

I'm looking forward to it to spanky!
Corey nailed those few jobs today. :bounce:
He found out that the new alloy radiator from Silvesters (made in China) had shit itself. So hopefully that will be replaced tonight before the dyno tune in the morning.

How's everyone else getting on getting their truck finished for the weekend??

I'd think it will be a no dogs event - thats pretty standard for offroad events - normally they are held on farmland...

I'm pretty sure you will find it is a "no dogs, full stop " set up. They can be a pain in the arse with people and trucks everywhere, and most people get all upset when their dog is flattened under a decent mud tyre.

Think I've got it all together now. Finally mounted up the 4wd switch to give me an advantage over you part time 4wders, found the two bonnet pins i was missing so the bonnet doesnt fly off, sorted out a tarp for the roof held it on with bits of wood, cut some excess wires out of the dashboard and got the fuel pump one by accident, put some more cable ties in the grill to hold it on better, did the door hinges up so it wont fall off tomorrow as it was as loose as hell, spaced out the door latch so hopefully it wont open all the time, put some oil in the old girl as she was quite low (someone must be stealing it!) charged the battery, found the front tow hook so she is all set now to take out first place 8)
