2.8l Pajero Airbox

Post by Pajfan »

:D Time to start on my truck. First though I need to waterproof it's lungs.
My SWB 2.8 Paj has an oval air filter that sits in abox that opens sideways. It always leaks around the seal :x Has anyone seen or heard of a replacement box that I can put in? I will make one that top opens if I have to but If I can shoot to the local reckers and grab one that would be great. Then I can chuck my Airflow up the side and it's all slop and giggles from there

Hi,
I dont have an answer for you, and it seems no-one else does either.

Please let us know if you find a suitable airbox, as I will be comming up to this problem eventually.
Cheers,

My answer that I somehow knew I would have to do but was hoping not to is to grab some steel and weld up a box with a bolt down top that has a water drain, spray deflector and mount for a K&N pod filter.
The good thing about this is that it will be easy to service and clean, and I should be able to get a really good seal. Now I just have to pull finger and build the dam thing!!
I will post photos when I get some progress.
It will be such a relief not to have to drag the filter out everytime the bonet takes a splash :P
Viva la Pajero!!
(I'm sure french and spanish mix???)
Tony

P.S. I got some rear coils from Supralux and I know he can get some Leafs that would make your back stand up! From mem good price too.
