Hi, i'm in Perth at the moment and looking to purchase a 1992 hilux surf 2.4 diesel, 148000ks. Recommendations on make and model appreciated.
Will be used for trailer boat towing and camping etc. Will search forums as well for info

hey carl, good to see another of our mates from across the ditch

a lot of people have very strong opinions about the 2.4 and its unreliability but if its a non turbo and well serviced then its gonna do you well (probably  )

having said that i would personaly go for a mid 90's (95 - 96) LN106 i think the model is 2.8d myself, have had one and loved it,had a coustomer who had the same and it had over a million kms on it with no serious issues (serviced every 5000k).

let us know what you get when you get it and as always please, please post pics

thats a very nice clean tidy one mate.

i would get it checked over by your local diesel specialist first tho, leak down and compression tested. worth the money in the long run.
