Hey ppl hows it going
Im new to this site and you guys seem like alot of help.
I have a 92 surf and recently caught fie sumhow underr the dash(when i left it running on turbo timer) and somehow a fire started under the dash!!The whole interior including dash and wiring loom(near where windscreen was) is all burnt.
I have spent $ jacking it up and got new 33" mudders ect.I have no insurance and am prtty gutted.Apart ffrom the interior and some glass its a tidy truck good motor gear box.Im currently on acc and have plenty of time on my hands.
I preferably want to rebuild the interior just dont know what im in for or if it iis possible.Would need new wiring loom/all windows apart from rear 3/complete dash/centre console/seat belts ect...
Not really worth selling for parts as i would want another surf.
Maybe ome1 has a wrecked surf that i can mix match parts from to make a good one.
Can anyone help with advice?

Hi sorry to read about the surf , start looking on trademe you can get some good deals their A guy i dealt with is in kaiapoi. his number is 327 0127, ask for mike. He has a 91? surf and is wrecking it for parts. i dont know what condition it is in but think he has interior left.
as long as you know what your doing when it comes to wiring diagrams youll be fine. Go to the central lib or otherwise and get your hands on the workshop manual for the surf/4runner. and if that dosent have the wiring diagrams needed there are a few guys on the net who have them.

Hey guys, and up date on how im getting on with fixing my krispy truck(well interior)
So far i have completerly stripped all the interior,dash,air-con everything so the whole firewall is exposed.The extent of the wiring damage is now clear.All wiring thoughout truck is fine(protected under carepet).
The main loom that runs just under windscreen is bassically burnt thru the centre like about 800mm long stretch of it.I am hoping i can just unplug it from both ends and put in a new one.
Anybody know a good auto electrician in chch that may be able to help me replace this as i dont really know what im doing.

I managed to get the loom out from centre of truck forward without cutting anything was easier than i 1st thought(rest of loom towards rear was fine)
Truck interior is ready for install of carpet, followed by loom and dash.Should be ready to run in next few days if all goes to plan.
Yes i am keen on all parts
Just wondering do i need the exact same loom a efi model one.And does it matter if its from a auto?Also mine had auto hubs so will need that on loom i figure? As mine is manual with manual wind up windows.
I found a donor truck for $800 but its an auto one which hopefully doesnt matter(will have spare plug i assume)Comes with all glass and interior minus the motor diffs trans..So i assume thats ok price.Im looking at it tomorow so hopefully its all good.May not be able to use door panels if electric wind.
Just looking for all the info i can get, keep it coming...
