noisy speedo

Post by skid »

my VX has a noisy speedo in the dash.
I have had it apart and squirted CRC down the cable, but its still noisy.

someone give me other ideas on how to fix it.

it may be a broken wire on the speedo inner cable, will also cause the needle to twitch slightly

Hey just a tip on lubricating speedo/clutch/brake cables or whatever cable it may be. Get some graphite powder into a squirty bottle, fill the bottle with CRC, give it a shake to mix it up then spray it down the cable.

Because CRC dries up after a short while this solution will wash the Graphite down the cable and when the CRC dries up the graphite will stay there to lubricate the cable for much much longer.

Store that in the memory file for later.
