Timing belt cover wanted

Post by Dick »

Hey,

I have an '87 Rugger, 2.8 diesel, and am looking for the plastic timing belt cover, as mine has a few holes in it.

Would anyone know where i could find one or mabye has one lying around?

Thanks,
Dick.

Thanks for that 2roky.

Just another question, when those 2.8 Diesels break a timing belt, and the engine is running, do the valve rods (i think they are called ) or the valves get broken, as happens often in diesels?

There was no noise when it stalled when the belt broke, and it was turned over a number of times to get it back going, until it was pronounced as 'dead' and required a new timing belt.

Thanks.
Dick
