Hey Skid. That avatar of yours? Surely you don't look as lame as that? It's almost offensive to look at it as many times as you post. Mate, you are an FJ40 fan? I'd prefer to look at what you drive.. That dude looks like a retard.

skid wrote:2 years ago after 4 years of pissing around in the shed on weekends and nights, I had a truck ready for playing. the plan was to certify it and keep it road legal. hahahahahahaha. back then it had drums all round, open diffs, exhaust out each side, full 6 point rollcage and was shiny and clean.

Image

now we move forward to today. its beat up as you can see, with dents all over. After my 1st trip when the brakes completely failed reversing off a steep hill, we put a later model 40 front in with 60 discs and fine spline CVs, then a 70 rear end with LSD, power steering, rear wheel brakes, later model (82-84) gearbox that mounts off the bottom of the box not at the bellhousing where they break mounts. the exhaust is now a 3" single(awesome sound), bonnet scoop, side bars, expensive K&N air filter and I sold the 10" rims and put on some 8" rims that I got off TM for $2.
its been rolled only once and I was lucky to only do minimal damage.
when it gets too rusty I will turn it into a flatdeck. oh and it never did get certified, and we now take it everywhere on a trailer.

one day I would love to start again with a new 40 and do it properly like nibby, mnc and any others that are doing a body off rebuild, although I would not do a spring over conversion as I'm not a big fan of those.
Theres bound to be some shit I missed out, but you get the picture.
Cheers

its hard to say, coz theres 3 classes and you'll see that Brendan came 2nd in his class and had more points than Dan.
We don't know if they do 3 seperate courses or what.
It looks like the highest score wins, which is the opposite to NZ scoring.

I will ring Brendan today and check it out.
