I like the look of it. Its been on trademe for a while though. Would be quite cool.

I dont see the auto being a down point. Most people after having auto offroad dont like driving manual. Personally I dont care because I hardly ever get to go offroad (no truck :(), but I do prefer the auto.

If it was a daily I'd go manual, but with a setup like that, I'd be tempted to give the auto a go.

I think it depends how much work you can do yourself, to pay someone as well as pay for all the bits to upgrade your hilux would not be cheap, but doing some yourself and taking it in stages i would stick with the hilux, im sure you could make yours a more capable truck but it will take plenty of time, money and work, The best peice of advice i could give would be start with something you like and something that will suit your needs, I got all carried away wanting to mod a surf but realised that i still want a deck and that a hilux is the truck for me. Each to his own
Last thing you want to do is spend major dollars and find that as much as its a badass capable truck its still not what suits you.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

I too have seen it in action, some stuff it walks through other stuff it just seem's too hard. When I last saw it they were having a few issues with it I am not sure what standard it is up to now but the specifications of the truck make it capable and I saw it quite a while back, it could have been the driver as he was doing silly lines.

It has been there for a while so you could possible go down there test drive it and get it cheaper.

Doing the Hilux against a half completed project someone else spent money on, it is up to you but next time I would look for a half done project with the right bits.
