Rubber edging

Post by Mattman »

I am after some 90o rubber edging and also some U shaped edging to use around the hole that is cut in my outer guard for my snorkel.

Anyone have any supplier suggestions?

Cheers
Matt.

Find a length of thin rubber pipe and split it length wise. Use it around the edge of the hole for your snorkel, Thats what I did, just gummed it on with some RTV.

Most of this stuff comes from Skellerup if you have one in Welly..

I tried rubber pipe initialy but with the vibrations etc (too close a tollerance) I ended up having it chop in half it so I made the hole a little bigger and used the trim that goes around the inside of the door. a lot stiffer but it looked pretty good and was free (off another wreck I had at the time)

Och I thinks that scottish blood is coming out

Aye, it sounds like you're well sorted and back to stuffing your haggis but for future reference... we've got a wholesale place locally that does conveyor belts, rubber sheeting etc., including heaps of different rubber extrusions -- surely there'd have to be a similar outlet down there somewhere?? I'll see if I can find where they source the stuff. It's just so bloody handy.

Try Industrial Conveyors in Lower Hutt. Wish I had the phone no. or address but the dude couldn't remember them.
