Gimme a yoddle if you want a second opinion, I'm in Invers, Think you are too....?
Contary to what Jerry said, they do not just blow diffs off road. Be hard on them with big tyres then yes you will break them but the late ones are 24 spline and unless you drive like a complete idiot on std tyres then you'll be fine. They don't drink any more petrol than what you'd expect from a V8.

I hadnt realised that you had owned a disco jerry. Especially not a 3.9l one

Check to see if its NZ new or import. Uk import ones can suffer from bad rust (because of all the salt on the roads). If it is, check all the rear wheel arches and sills etc for rust.
They are nice to drive, sound cool if you get rid of the centre muffler (if exhaust is stock).
What kind of K's?
thanks guys. And yea im in invers.
I should be able to pick it up for around 4.
I am either going with this truck an modd it for 4wding. or keep my surf and put the lexus v8 in her. just not sure. im thinking maybe the disco as its V8 coil sprung beam axle already so its a good starting point.
Hmmm dont know what to do!!
Anyways im off to have a look shortly.

Hi,
Check sills, rear wheel arches, especially around the rear seatbelt mounts and the rear body (not chassis) x-member.
In Disco's, check the rear floor. They rot like hell. If he doesn't let you pull the carpets up, then walk away.
Hope it's a good 'un and post some pics!
Cheers,
Hugo.

take it for a test drive up a hill once it is warm some can have temperature issues and some of them are difficult to track down.
Also they have a tendancy to let a lot of water in (more than most) through rivers so use containers to store dry stuff in.
but they are a good 4wd and can be really well setup

Righty, been for a look.
Dont know what to do. it needs a clean up but other than that it looks good. hi/low an diff lock was bit stiff but it hasnt been used in over a year so wasnt too bad i guess.
Over all he wants 4500 but i wouldnt offer more than 4.
Gunna weigh up my options over the next few days and see what i come up with.
Thanks guys
input is much appreciated
Cheers

What sort of mileage has it done? Also what spec is it basic model or top of line with full leather etc.
The stiff transfer lever is usually a sign of non use meaning it hasn't done a lot of off road work.
Price would be dependent on mileage condition spec etc but $4500 doesn't seem too bad for full ES unless rough and very high mileage.

220000 Km is high
I just paid $4500 for sim with 120000Km
& one a week befor paid $4800 102000km (but was the basic) But MINT cond to tidy for my project & white was not my colour !!
If it's a nice truck i would turn up with $3400 in $20's & $50's but pull it out of your pocket as you make the offer!!!!
