Hi Steve,
What are the bushes that you are using, they look like exactly what I want for my trailing arm setup that i want to build, where did you ge them from and how much, if you sell them i would be after 14 sets.
I might one day get to use the Simex's I bought off you a while ago.

Also what are the dimensions, OD, ID and length between flanges.

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim, I can't tell you what the bushes are since if the truth came out certain board members would laugh :P

I can supply them, and the rings if needs be... the bushes are not cheap tho... the rings are made from steel pipe which isn't cheap either... the machining is the cheapest part of it all :)

And you still have those just lying about? the rubber will perish and fall apart before you get them bolted up :P

If you are too embarssed ? to put it out in the public forum, can you pm me the details, only possibly after the bushes, probably got some pipe and can do the machining.

They are GQ trailing arm bushes

ID for the pipe needs to be 50mm, and the sleeve is 60mm. The pipe is approx 42mm long...

I'm going to use 35x50x3 RHS for the arms and have set up a 65mm holesaw to do a nice neat-fitting job of the arms.

Having done all this, the Isuzu bushes look much more flexible and are 10mm wider at the sleeve... might have to investigate that one...

Steve

I think the GQ and Terrano have the same bushes !
The Terrano bottom arms are real short but the bushes are good to go.
I got my arms for the old wreck for $10 a piece from Dave at Falsgrave, but I think he's been cleaned out now :(

Thanks for that Steve,
So are you saying that the Izuzu bushes would use a 52mm long piece of pipe to fit in as that would suit me better for what I am doing, and are the OD and ID about the same as the GQ ones.

Do you have good price for either or both if I bought 16 sets.

Thanks

Tim - not sure where the measurements you just came up with are from... the GQ bush is 60mm wide at the crush tube, the Isuzu one is 70mm. The tube ID for the GQ one is within coo-ee of 50mm (I used 49mm ID as it was all I could find that was snug), I don't know the Isuzu ID as I have not measured it.

I will find you a price for the bushes and PM it...

Those look like Nolathane bushes.

Factory rubber bushes will flex more than a Nolathane so if there is a rubber option available you should go for it.

Yep, I know that but the Nolathane bushes are easy to get, and easy to replace and cheaper by far - good for starting to design them - I can always press in rubber ones later once I have them the way I want em :)

Nolathae is fine for me as I don't need them to twist, just to go up and down and have some lateral movement.

got a price today... going to have to look at other options cos I'm sure I didn't pay this, and I am pretty sure you're not going to want to...

$200 for a pack of 4, so if you want 12 thats going to be $600!!!

Thanks for that Steve, you are quite right I won't be paying $50 each or $37.50 via Wopass.
Have found I can get some bonded rubber ones from a Nissan Parts place for about $25 each, will have to check with Wopass if he can get these ones a bit cheaper through his contacts.

Hi Steve,
Are you able to tell me what Model Izuzu you were looking at using the bushes from, so that I can have a look at some at the local dealer.

Also, did you ever find a better price for the nolathane ones.

Thanks

The Isuzu arms I'm using are from a 92-96 Bighorn - UBS25 is the V6 version I think, which should be identical to the diesel one (UBS69? - so many models I can't remember them all :P)

The nissan bushes (those nolathane ones) are from a GQ patrol... (Y60 ?)

And no, no better pricing on the bushes, although I am in talks with an overseas supplier at the moment regarding some suspension components - so I'll ask about bushes too...
